As we approach the end of May, Brainerd is gearing up for two significant events that bring our community together: the Memorial Day ceremonies and the Lakes Jam music festival.
Memorial Day Ceremonies
On Monday, May 25, the Brainerd community will honor our nation’s heroes with a series of Memorial Day events:
- 9:00 AM: Wreath Toss at the Mississippi River Bridge on Laurel Street.
- 9:30 AM: Ceremony at the All Veterans Memorial, located at 326 Laurel St.
- 10:00 AM: Parade proceeding to Evergreen Cemetery for the main ceremony.
These events provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to pay their respects and reflect on the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women.
Lakes Jam Music Festival
Looking ahead, the annual Lakes Jam music festival is set to take place from June 24 to June 27 at the Brainerd International Raceway. This year’s lineup features a mix of country and rock artists, including:
- June 24: Neal McCoy
- June 25: Terri Clark and Chris Cagle
- June 26: Tucker Wetmore, Dasha, and Drew Baldridge
- June 27: Bailey Zimmerman, Josh Ross, and Ashland Craft
In addition to the musical performances, attendees can enjoy various outdoor activities such as mud trucks, watercross (snowmobile racing on water), and drifting exhibitions. Tickets and camping passes are available for purchase on the official Lakes Jam website.
These events highlight the vibrant community spirit of Brainerd, offering residents and visitors alike opportunities to come together in remembrance and celebration.
